Freedom

Galatians 5:13 HCSB
For you were called to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

The Greek word eleutheria; (to be free or liberty) means: true liberty is living as we should not as we please

Anyone who has experienced an addiction knows “living as one pleases” is not good (in many ways). Sometimes one doesn’t even feel like they even have a choice while being drawn back to what one pleases. Galatians 5:13 reminds us that Christ has set us free to live as we should and not as we please. Now that is truly freeing!
